The Associated Nursing Homes run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary in Wieleń started their activities in 1933. They are designed for 354 Residents, both men and women. The residents are elderly people, physically disabled or somatically ill persons, as well as mentally disabled adults who need assistance round the clock. The Homes are situated in Wieleń on the Noteć River, within a fenced-off area of 12 hectares (30 acres) where a complex of 6 buildings with a total floor space of 8,500 square meters (91,500 square feet) is situated. Beautiful, soft landscaped areas around the buildings provide leisure and walking possibilities for the Residents.
On the premises of the Homes there is an old park with an area of 2.56 hectares (6.32 acres), numerous walking alleys, fountains and a pond. We are open to extensive cooperation with local social welfare services responsible for a given Resident. The Residents’ affairs are discussed at meetings of a therapeutic team composed of the director, a social welfare employee, a psychologist, a coordinator responsible for care and nursing matters, a physiotherapist and an occupational therapy instructor.
